Sooooo, my tire planters got the kibosh. The landlord came by and was like "Thats not going to work for me. I guess having some plants growing in tires is going to ruin the aesthetic quality of our shitty neighborhood. I don't understand this world. We came up with an alternate though. So I took two 2x10x16 ft wolmanized pressure treated boards and made a 4x4 garden with two elevated 2x2 beds on each side. I think the end result is as good or better than the tires, I just really wanted to use those tires, although I have an idea for the shitty backyard... So. I will post when we got something in there.
